GDP per capita in the Czech Republic is higher than that of Italy and Spain.
According to the latest survey by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Czech Republic is ahead of Spain and Italy in terms of GDP per capita.
According to the IMF, the gross domestic product per capita in the Czech Republic this year stands at $38,120, compared to $37,905 in Italy (2020) and $36,086 in Spain (2017). The comparison between the countries was made by converting salaries in 2017 into US dollars.
Although this result is influenced by the COVID-19 crisis, which has taken a heavy toll on major economies, this indicator is expected to remain in place even after the crisis ends.
Moreover, the IMF also believes that within five years, the Czech Republic will surpass New Zealand and Japan, reaching the 25th place in the world in terms of GDP per capita. The forecast for 2025 is a GDP of $45,490 in the Czech Republic, compared to $42,525 in Italy and $42,809 in Spain.
